A Letter to Myself in 2030

Dear Younger Self!

Life is a phenomenon associated with evolution, and during the last eight years, the world has gone through startling changes.

The world here in 2030 is gender-balanced as it provides both men and women equal opportunities to grow. No sexism halts the growth of women here, and they are allowed to follow their dreams in the same way as the men did in 2020 that making this world much more inclusive. Almost more than half of the countries have women heads of state. More women are joining the science and engineering field. Also, top companies of the world have equal numbers of women on their board of directors panel compared to men. So, the world has incorporated the female perspective that was the missing link in 2020. They make their choices related to their education, health, and body independently. Not only women but all the sexes, including transgender people, are equally treated, and they contribute to a prosperous society without any fear of exclusion.

The environment is reclaiming itself. Countries all over the world are cooperating on this issue critical to the existence of humanity that seemed to be an uphill task in 2020. The world has realized that the only way to counter global warming is through collective efforts need to be done on war footings. More tree plantation drives are becoming popular. Industries are becoming carbon-free to minimize the emissions that have been destroying the environment in the past. The carbon tax is prevalent worldwide, which helps in the reduction of carbon-print.

People are tolerant here, and they tend to celebrate differences instead of quarreling over them. Racism and xenophobia do not exist anymore, which were rampant in 2022 which makes the world in 2030 much more peaceful.

Technology and the digital revolution have taken over the world. Autonomous electric cars have entirely replaced conventional vehicles. Moreover, flying cars seems to be the norm in this world, which was just a dream in 2020. Robots have taken most of the chores previously performed by humans, such as cleaning, washing, and even serving in restaurants. But this rise in technology has not affected the privacy of an individual, and collected data is not manipulated to disseminate malicious propaganda as it used to happen in 2020. Technology has benefited everyone equally irrespective of the class which makes this world much more equitable. Along with that, free health and education facilities are being provided to everyone in this world and are not a luxury anymore just for the elite but are considered to be the basic necessity of life. Although technology is at its peak, arts, poetry, and history have still not lost their charm and enjoy the same respect as science in the world.

I am serving as a public servant after clearing a competitive exam. Helping people makes me very content, particularly the marginalized section of society. Although the world is not perfect in 2030, at least it is much better than it was in 2020. And I think that is life; moving from the good to the better and then, the best and beyond. I would advise you, my younger self, to be patient and hold on to life; it does get better in the end.

Adios

Stay Strong!
